Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q I’m unsure about renting accessories. Can I decide to add options on the day?

You can also pay for any added options before you leave the shop.

Q Can I bring my own accessories like hair ornaments, obi ties, or lace collars?

A Yes, you’re welcome to bring your own items, however, we kindly ask that you put them on yourself.

(Graduation hakama and furisode are eligible for previews and reservations—please check the specific plan pages for details.)

Recommended Sightseeing Spots After Renting a Kimono at Kyoto Station

Kyoto Tower

Right in front of JR Kyoto Station stands Kyoto Tower—one of the rare tall buildings in the city! From the top, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Kyoto.
In 2017, a stylish new shopping complex called Kyoto Tower Sando opened inside the tower. It features a foodie-friendly Food Hall, a Market with carefully curated Kyoto goods, and Workshops where you can experience traditional Japanese culture firsthand.
It’s a great spot to fully enjoy the Kyoto vibe, with tons of photogenic gourmet treats and beautiful souvenirs. After dressing up in your kimono, we highly recommend stopping by for a tasty bite!

Heian Shrine

Heian Shrine is located about 15 minutes from Kyoto Station by train, followed by a 15-minute walk from Higashiyama Station.
It’s famous as a cherry blossom spot beloved by writers, and the vivid vermilion shrine buildings are breathtaking year-round. The gardens here also change with the seasons, offering stunning views that have enchanted visitors for over a century.
Wearing a kimono makes the stroll feel even more special. There are lots of photo-worthy spots like the giant torii gate, beautiful shrine halls, and serene gardens. Don’t forget to check out nearby attractions like Okazaki Park, Nanzen-ji Temple, and the famous Yatsuhashi sweets shop!

Tofuku-ji Temple

Just a 3-minute train ride from Kyoto Station and a 10-minute walk from Tofukuji Station, this temple is super easy to get to.
Tofuku-ji is a perfect destination for a kimono stroll and is especially well-known for its lush greenery in early summer and brilliant autumn leaves in the fall.
The most famous spot? Tsuten-kyo Bridge, which connects the main hall to the Kaisando Hall and offers one of Kyoto’s most beautiful views during autumn.
It’s also close to other iconic spots like Fushimi Inari Shrine, Sennyu-ji Temple, and Sanjusangendo, so you can easily combine your visit. For gorgeous, Instagram-worthy fall photos in kimono—this place is a must!

Kyoto Aquarium

About 15 minutes from Kyoto Station by city bus, the Kyoto Aquarium is a hidden gem—especially great during summer if you’re wearing a yukata!
The combination of yukata and aquatic backdrops makes for beautiful, refreshing photos. The penguin tank, in particular, is a favorite for that cool, summery vibe.
There’s also a magical jellyfish exhibit called “Jellyfish Wonder,” where 30+ species float in a 360° tank. Take a photo in your yukata here, and you’ll capture an absolutely dreamy scene—no wonder it’s so popular on social media.
If you want a more photogenic, stylish take on your Kyoto sightseeing, this spot is perfect!

Arashiyama Area

Hop on the JR Sagano Line from Kyoto Station and get off at Saga-Arashiyama Station (about 20 mins). From there, it’s a 10-minute walk to the heart of Arashiyama.
This area is packed with famous landmarks like Togetsukyo Bridge, Bamboo Grove, Kimono Forest, and Tenryu-ji Temple. Literally everywhere you go, your kimono will look amazing in photos!
We also recommend trying a rickshaw ride—your guide will not only share fun facts about the area, but also help you snap the best pictures. Plus, it’s a great way to rest your feet while still exploring.
Even the simplest roads in Arashiyama can look incredible when you’re in a kimono. It’s a truly photogenic area, so don’t miss the chance to strike a pose and capture those unforgettable Kyoto memories.
