Notes when Renting a Kimono

When renting a kimono, it is necessary to check what is included in the plan.

For example, if you book a plan for couples, you may find that a haori is not included in winter, or that tabi socks need to be purchased, or that there is a fee for storing your belongings. We recommend shops with rental plans that include a kimono and a set of accessories.

At Waraku,
we have rental plans that include everything: kimonos and accessories, professional hairstyling, and free storage for your belongings, so you don’t need any prior preparation.
Our extensive plans can be used affordably in various situations.
We have Student Discount plan, Couple Discount plan, and Group Discount plan for three or more people.

Are the kimonos and yukata we can choose limited depending on the plan?

Some kimono rental stores have different prices depending on the type of kimonos or yukata you choose.
In such stores, the popular lace kimonos and traditional ones may not be included in their plans, so what you want to choose may end up being expensive!

At Waraku,
the price is the same regardless of your choice! Waraku Kimono Rental has over 300 types of kimonos and yukatas and over 100 types of obi, so the variety of outfit coordination is endless.
Come to our store to choose from the best selections around at a great price!

Are there discount plans available at kimono rental shops?

Those who want to rent kimonos may be students, couples, or groups. Kimono rental shops that offer discounts for them may allow them to rent kimonos at a low price. However, you also need to check whether the contents of the plan and the types of kimonos and yukata you can choose are limited.

At Waraku,
we have affordable and extensive plans, such as the Student Discount plan that any student, regardless of age or nationality can use by showing their Student ID, the Couple Discount plan where couples can rent a male and female kimono, and the Group Discount plan for groups of three or more people.
The above plans allow you to choose any kimono or yukata at the same price!

Average Kimono Rental Store Prices

Couple Discount Plan: From ¥6,000 to ¥10,000

It is a plan for couples who want to go on a date wearing kimonos, available at many kimono rental shops.
Hairstyling is almost always included for female customers, but not for men. There are many kimonos and yukata for women, but the selection for men may be limited, so it may be a good idea to check in advance on Instagram.

Student Discount Plan: From 3,000 to 6,000

The Student Discount Plan is available to students of any age or nationality, and can be used by showing a valid Student ID. This plan is affordable, but it is only available to female customers. Male customers must use the Men’s Plan. The kimono you can choose may or may not include lace kimonos or traditional kimonos.

Group Discount Plan: From 3,000 to 5,000

This is a kimono plan that offers a cheaper price per person when used by groups of three or more people. Some stores do not offer group plans for only male customers, so please check. This plan also generally includes hairstyling for women but not for men.
