What to Know Before Renting a Kimono in Asakusa
Check what’s included in the rental plan
Before renting a kimono, make sure to check what’s included in the plan.
For example, you might book a couple’s plan but find out in winter that it doesn’t include a haori (coat), or that socks must be purchased separately, or that luggage storage costs extra.
We recommend choosing a shop where the basic plan includes both the kimono and all necessary accessories.
Our kimono rental package includes a full set of accessories, and we offer free luggage storage. Hair styling and hair accessories are also included, so you can come completely empty-handed. We have a variety of affordable plans to suit different situations, including Student Discount Plans, Couple Plans, and Group Plans for three or more people.
Are there any restrictions on the kimono or yukata you can choose?
Some shops charge different prices depending on the type of kimono or yukata you choose. We recommend choosing a shop where all kimono and yukata are available at the same price, no matter which one you pick. At some places, popular options like lace kimonos or antique styles may come with extra fees—so if you have a specific style in mind, the total cost can become expensive.
At our shopNo matter which kimono or yukata you choose, the price is the same! Are discount plans available?
Many people look into kimono rentals for various occasions, such as students, couples, or groups. Shops that offer student discounts, couple discounts, or group discounts make renting a kimono more affordable. However, it’s essential to also check if the plan restricts the types of kimonos or yukatas you can choose, not just the price.
At our shopWe offer a variety of affordable plans to suit different needs. Students can use the Student Discount Plan by showing their student ID. Couples can enjoy the Couple Plan, which allows them to rent both women’s and men’s kimonos. For groups of three or more, we offer the Group Rental Plan.
