Kimono Rental Tips by Situation

1. For Students

Before renting kimono in Kyoto or Asakusa, check if student discounts apply. Some shops exclude hair styling or limit eligibility to certain ages. Waraku’s student plan is available to all nationalities and ages, as long as you present a student ID. Hair styling is included, and you can choose any kimono. We also provide free luggage storage.

Couples often enjoy choosing matching colors or coordinating designs. However, some shops separate male and female selection areas, making coordination difficult. Our Philosophy at Waraku

Sharing Japanese Kimono Culture With the World

Japan is home to globally renowned tourist destinations such as Kyoto and Asakusa. With the rise of inbound tourism, kimono rental has become a popular cultural experience. Waraku welcomes many international guests who wish to enjoy this unique part of Japanese culture. Our mission is to share the beauty and joy of kimono with visitors from around the world.

Making Kimono Cute, Modern, and Accessible

Kimono may appear formal, but when basic rules are followed, they can be styled freely. By matching classical kimono with trendy accessories, guests can create new, modern looks perfect for today’s fashion culture. Waraku supports both traditional and trendy styling, making cute and affordable kimono rental easier than ever.

Connecting Japanese Culture to the Next Generation

As fewer young people wear kimono today, Waraku strives to make kimono more casual, cute, and approachable. We incorporate popular fashion trends for SNS-friendly styling, maintain affordable pricing for students and couples, and ensure polite, supportive service for first-time renters.
