How to rent Kimono on the same day reservation

① Check the reservation calendar for the day on the web.
Select your desired time and plan, fill in the required information, and make a reservation.
Our web reservations can be made up to one hour before the reservation time. Please note that when it is fully booked, “X” is displayed in the slot. Please understand this in advance. If you would like to make a reservation more in advance, please contact the branch directly by phone.

② Please be sure on time
After you complete the reception, we will give you a large bag to keep your belongings. After you have chosen your kimono and obi(Sash), we will dress you and set your hair. It takes about 15 to 20 minutes to dress and 15 minutes to set your hair. The average time required from reception to departure is about 1 hour. The time may vary depending on how crowded the store is and how long it takes you to choose your kimono and obi.

③ After choosing your Geta(sandals) and drawstring bag and dropping off your luggage, you are ready to go.
We have several accessories for you to choose from, including bags/sandals/hair accessories, in addition to kimono and obi. We have many chic and stylish accessories that are perfect for the retro streets of Gion. Options can be added at the time of your visit, so please feel free to ask our staff if you would like to add any items. After you have finished replacing your luggage, you are ready to go.

Notes for Same-day reservation
at Kyoto Gion Kimono Rental

・Please understand that we might not be able to accept the same day reservation when it is a busy season such as graduation season in March, Golden week, and fireworks festivals.

・Our kimono will be available for women whose height is from 145cm (4’9”) ~ 175cm (5’9”), men for 155cm (5’1”) ~ 190cm (6’3”). As long as the height matches the above range, elementary school students can use our service.

・You can add options on the day of the reservation. Please make sure to return by 17:30. If you would like to extend the hours, you can return between 9:30 to 12:00 as “Returning the next day Option” with 1,100 yen extra charge.
