Student Kimono Rental in Kamakura – Top 3 Places to Visit
Kamakura is an excellent place to get dressed in kimono and head for famous landmarks. Regardless of age or nationality, as long as you are a student, take advantage of this plan with a student discount.
Where to visit in a kimono? Here’s what we suggest:

1. Dankazura
The first location we recommend is Dankazura, the pathway that spans from the second torii gate to Tsurugaoka Hachimangu along Wakamiya Oji.
Most visitors to Tsurugaoka Hachimangu walk along this 480-meter path, which is also a very well known cherry blossom viewing spot. It’s a must-visit location when sightseeing in Kamakura.
Many students may recognize this location from their previous school trips – maybe you’ve even been here before! Walking this scenic path in a cute kimono – something you couldn’t do during school trips – will surely become a special memory to you!
Wearing a kimono lifts the mood, making your experience all the more enjoyable!
Free luggage storage comes with kimono and accessory rentals at our shop, so you can visit hassle-free. We highly recommend stopping here in a rental kimono!
Highlights of Dankazura
・a stroll in kimono is a unique experience in Kamakura
・a picture-perfect place; even better in kimono
・proximity to Kamakura Kimono Rental Waraku

2. Enoshima Aquarium
The next place we recommend is Enoshima Aquarium, located roughly 20 minutes by train from Kamakura Station. Ranked one of the top sightseeing spots in the Kamakura area, it’s a very popular place.
Many of our customers who rent kimonos from us ask, “Can we only walk around near Kamakura Station?” as well as saying things like “We’d love to visit somewhere a bit farther like Enoshima!”
At Waraku Kamakura Kimono Rental, if you rent starting from 9:30 AM, you can enjoy wearing your kimono for up to 8 hours.
And by selecting the next-day return option (returning your kimono by 12:00 PM the next day), you can easily enjoy a kimono outing even to more distant locations.
Enoshima Aquarium is a large, well-known aquarium enjoyed by both children and adults alike. It was originally called “Enoshima Suizokukan” but reopened as the new Enoshima Aquarium in 2004, and has since become a very popular destination visited by tons of people.
Like Waraku, Enoshima Aquarium also offers student discounts, making it a great choice for students.
With exciting dolphin shows, dream-like jellyfish displays, and the photogenic Sagami Bay large tank, it’s a perfect place to take memorable photos.
The combination of your cute kimono and the magical marine life will surely make for unforgettable memories. Be sure to check it out!
Highlights of Enoshima Aquarium
・relaxing surrounded by sea creatures
・a day spent in kimono at the aquarium
・various programs & dining options

3. Onari Street
The last place we recommend is Onari Street. When people think of street food, they tend to think of Komachi Street, but Onari Street is also lined with cafes, shops, and stylish boutiques.
Onari Street has a different atmosphere from Komachi Street, with many nostalgic-style shops, making it a popular area among high school and university students.
It’s also known for having many spots where kimonos look great in photos. Even just strolling about in an antique or retro-styled kimono can feel like stepping back in time.
One recommended stop is the crepe shop Cocurico. Their crepes are chewy with a crispy, golden-brown surface that makes them especially delicious to eat.
A photo with the combination of a nostalgic kimono and crepes is guaranteed to be Instagram-worthy! Be sure to stop by here.
Highlights of Onari Street
・a local and nostalgic atmosphere
・easy access, less congested area in town
・a photo opportunity with the nostalgic background
